Sasmita Sahoo, a rural development professional in PRADAN with more than 7 years of knowledge and experience in poverty mitigation through strengthening of livelihoods of tribal and backward communities in the remote locations of Odisha and West Bengal. She has completed her post graduation in Sociology from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. She has worked for 3 years in Kalahandi district of Odisha. She is currently based at Khatra, a sub-division of Bankura district of West Bengal. She is working at the grass-roots level for the empowerment of rural women; nurturing and promoting of community-based institutions, strengthening livelihoods intervention through FPC, implementing the INRM works jointly with PRI members and other stakeholders.
