No person should go Hungry

In this fight against the COVID19, no person should go hungry or go helpless. PRADAN Jainamore team in support with the support of the women federation Tejaswini Mahila Sangh and Jagriti Mahila Sangh is reaching out to 25 gram panchayats in two blocks of Bokaro districts.

Around 1200+ ultra poor families have been identified from the list of vulnerable families developed by the SHG village organisations. SHG members are getting the data of these vulnerable by contacting through phones and other mediums to understand their situation and provide for all necessary support. At present, 210 such families from remote villages of seven panchayats of Jaridih block were provided with ration packages (along with daily essentials) on April 01, 2020 (as 1st lot of distribution). The team plans to reach out to all the families in next
4-5 days.

SHG members have also supported five laborers who were stranded in their area because of lockdown. They labourers were provided with rations packages and other necessary support by the SHG members.

The Ration packet contains:

  • 10 kg rice
  • 01 kg lentil
  • 02 kg potato
  • 0.5 liter mustard oil
  • 1 kg salt
  • a packet of puffed rice (Murhi)
  • a packet of turmeric
  • bathing and detergent soaps.
