Michael Walton

As the Director for Economic Development, Research and Strategy in IMAGO Global grassroots, Michael Walton is increasingly involved in working with grassroots organisations, especially in India and Latin America. In addition to his work with IMAGO, Michael is a senior lecturer at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Policy Research, Delhi.He was VKRV Rao Chair Professor, Institute of Social and Economic Change, Bangalore for 2008 and 2009. He worked for 20 years at the World Bank, including as global Director for Poverty Reduction, Chief Economist for East Asia, and director of two World Development Reports. Michael has a B.A. in Philosophy and Economics and an M.Phil. in Economics, both from Oxford University.
