Himadri Das
Himadri Das, an MBA graduate, works in the Resource Mobilisation,
Communication & Partnership unit at PRADAN. She has spent more than
five years on ground and contributed to build a system through
collectivizing women in Self-Help Groups. Her work involved promoting a
Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) to strengthen livelihoods of farmers.
She also has worked with Block & Gram Panchayat administration to
implement watershed schemes through Mahatma Gandhi National Rural
Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) Act.

Every year, August 9 is commemorated as the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. The day is celebrated to recognize the inheritance of the indigenous communities, the impact of colonialism on them, and acknowledge the culture and contributions of these communities.
