Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN), one of India’s foremost agencies working on the improvement of rural livelihood for the last 40 years, has recently released the report on ‘Status of Adivasi Livelihoods 2021’. The report was released in the presence of Shri Arjun Munda, the Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.

आदिवासी समुदायों के लिए कार्यक्रमों और योजनाओं को प्रकृति और गैर शोषित कमाने के तरीकों के साथ इकट्ठा रहने के उनके मूल्यों के साथ जोड़ने की जरूरत है। आदिवासी जीवन शैली से समझौता किए बगैर आदिवासियों के सामने आने वाली चुनौतियों हल सुनिश्चित करने का यही एकमात्र तरीका है।

Programmes and schemes for tribal communities need to align with their values of togetherness, living in harmony with nature and non-exploitative livelihood practices. That is the only way to ensure the challenges being faced by the Adivasis are addressed without compromising the Adivasi way of living.
