Project Sustainability of SHGs: Data Collection
Arundhita (Researcher based out of PRADAN, Delhi) and
Vishakha (Researcher at Institute of Social Studies
Trust) conducting a Focus Group Discussion with
the members of an SHG in Guna district
of Madhya Pradesh. The discussion was on the day-to-day
functioning of their SHG; factors responsible for
successful functioning of their SHG and the challenges
they face to sustain their group. This data collection
is part of a larger study on sustainability of SHGs
under NRLM. |

Project Sustainability of SHGs: Data Analysis
Nivedita (Integrator/Researcher) and Arundhita
(Researcher), both based out of PRADAN, Delhi
sitting with researchers from ISST in PRADAN's Delhi
office and brainstorming on the data collected from the
field. The qualitative data was collected by experienced researchers from the Institute of Social
Studies Trust (ISST) and PRADAN. This exercise was conducted to make sense of the initial impressions from the field, which presented systemic factors responsible for SHG health and prepare a pre-analysis report. |

Project Organisational Life Cycles (OLC): Review Meeting
Anju (Research Associate) and Aruna (Researcher),
both from ISDM; Vinitika, Sudhir, and Nivedita (PRADAN,
Delhi) reviewing the progress and planning ahead.
This is part of a project with ISDM to study
organisational life cycles. The study aims to
contribute to the existing published literature on NGO
lifecycle and use PRADAN as a case study to present different stages of an OLC. |

India Leaders for Social Sector (ILSS)
Three resource persons (Nivedita,
PRADAN; and Asha and Radha, Narmada Mahila
Sangh) on stage during a session on Leadership for
Social Change. The event organized by India
Leaders for Social Sector was for senior corporate
and public sector employees who are keen to make a
shift to the social sector. The audience was deeply
moved and motivated with the leadership demonstrated by
these women in their individual and collective spheres.

Project TIGR2ESS: Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Workshop
Shuvajit, (Executive) and Astha, (Research
Associate), both based out of Chakai working in
the TIGR2ESS project, attending a two-day workshop
facilitated by Anju (Research Associate, ISDM).
The workshop familiarised the team with GIS softwares:
ArcGIS and GoogleEarthPro to create seasonal maps,
watershed delineation, administrative boundaries, and
land use-land cover mapping. The aim is to create a
dataset of different layers of the map for the Chakai
region that can be used for all upcoming projects.

Project TIGR2ESS: Visiting Fellows
Shuvajit (Executive, PRADAN) and Charlotte (PhD Student, Cambridge
University) having discussions with the community
at Bamdah Panchayat, Chakai. Charlotte is visiting
three PRADAN locations (Chakai, Godda, and Banka) to
select field for her PhD around forest-food mapping
and route mapping of forests. She developed a
questionnaire to explore contextually applicable
research questions, together with Shuvajit and other
PRADAN staff. |

Project GROW: Data Collection
Vinitika and Arundhita (Researchers based out of
PRADAN, Delhi) conducting a Focus Group
Discussion with SHG members in Giridih, Jharkhand. This
is a part of GROW (Gender-Responsive Organisations for
Women) project which works with JSLPS in strengthening
CLFs through integrating gender at all levels of the
program. This data collection is a part of the scoping
study to gain a situational analysis of the whole
program and provide inputs to the implementation
architecture and the internal monitoring, learning, and
training system. |

Project EMERGE: Community Data Collectors (CDC) Survey
The project EMERGE ( Evidence-based measures of
Empowerment on Research on Gender Equality) aims to
test new methods and measures for collective action. We
are applying three survey methods to achieve our
objectives. These methods are CDC-based survey,
Enumerator-based survey and Social Network Analysis.
Led by Amit Kumar (Senior Assistant, PRADAN, Delhi),
the CDC survey is currently being undertaken in Betul,
MP. |
